Bras: One Size Does Not Fit All. Here’s How To Find The Best Fit For You

Bras can be super stylish, although certain styles may not be functional for all sizes. While some ladies can rock bralettes and bandeaus, more endowed women desperately need the support of underwire. Regardless, you need to know your size to find your perfect bra.

Bra sizes vary greatly from brand to brand and country to country. You’ve stumbled upon a super comfy looking bra and you find yourself asking, “What is my bra size?”

Here's how you can measure for a bra without having to walk into a department store’s lingerie section and be sized up by a stranger.

What Is My Bra Size?

Women know that one size never fits all. In fact, finding the perfect style, shape, and size for your girls may look like an ever-revolving door of bras until you find the right one.

If you’ve ever wondered how to measure bra size, then we’ve got you covered. Here are some simple tips, plus a handy DIY bra size calculator.

Also, if you don’t happen to have a measuring tape, don’t worry. We have a few ideas on alternative tools you can use.

First off, you need your measurements. If you can’t get your hands on a measuring tape, find a piece of string, a scarf, or even just an article of clothing that is long enough to wrap around your chest. Then, you can use a ruler, smartphone app, or other measuring device on that item later.

Whatever you use, you’re going to take two measurements: one around your ribcage and one around the girls.

The measurement you get from around your rib cage is your band size. The measurement from around your bust is going to help us determine your cup size.

Your cup size is the difference between your band and bust measurements. Subtract your band size from your bust size, then use the bra size chart below to find your cup size.
